Frequently Asked Questions
Is my file data kept private?
Absolutely. All processing happens entirely in your browser. No file data is sent to any server. Your files are only used to generate renamed copies.
Are my original files modified?
No, this tool cannot modify files on your system. It creates new copies with different names that you download as a ZIP file. Your original files remain unchanged.
Can I rename files by their content?
No, this tool renames based on the current filenames and your specified rules. It does not analyze file contents for renaming purposes.
What file extensions are preserved?
When "Keep extensions" is enabled (default), the last part after the final dot is preserved as the extension. This works for most common file types.
Is there a limit to how many files I can rename?
There is no strict limit, but very large numbers of files (hundreds or more) may take longer to process and ZIP for download.
